Wandering Silk's Jamdani Artist dress is cut in a silhouette flattering to a range of shapes and sizes: the flat collar frames the face; the slightly fitted dolman sleeves add shape to the over-sized cut; and gathers under the gusset add drama and weight to the light cotton.
Artist dress is mid-calf length, has side pockets and closes down the center front with mother of pearl buttons, allowing it to be worn as a dress or as an open overlay.
The delicacy and softness of this fabric has to be touched and seen to be believed: the fine count khadi cotton is hand spun and hand woven. While on the loom, the cloth is embellished with laborious supplementary weft jamdani motifs in natural indigo-dyed cotton, metallic zari and gicha silk, adding delicate but sophisticated detailing to the otherwise humble fabric.
