Story Behind the Design

Lineya Linen Collection is crafted from premium, hand woven linen; this light-weight cloth is gauzy and semi-sheer. Soft to the touch, the fabric has a beautiful texture and drape. Highlights in metallic zari add an element of sophistication. The Lineya Collection is named after the earliest women linen workers in Ancient Egypt, some 4000 years ago.

The linen yarn is sourced from India's first linen producers and hand woven by expert weavers in the villages of West Bengal. The fabric is woven by men on their home looms, while women carry out the multitude of pre- and post-loom activities. Given that these fabric are handwoven there will be minor variations in the color across pieces - such irregularities are part of the design and inherent to the production process.
