A stunning collection inspired by the diversity of life under the sea. Each piece is created using techniques of Charakkam and crochet, characteristic of Maya’s unique handcrafted look. The colorful threads look even richer alongside metallic beads, evoking memories by the seashore.
These necklaces are individually crafted. Any variations or irregularities are part of the design and inherent to the production process.
Maya-Bazaar works with grass root level artisans who had given up their tradition of charakkam or handknotting to work as migrant labourers in Mumbai, India. Infusing their craft with modern designs and unique ideas, Mayabazaar continues to create individual pieces of jewellery and accessories. At Mayabazaar we encourage employment of women and provide support in health, education, savings, family planning and relationship counselling to our craftspeople.
