Upcycled Necklace - 3 Strands

Hand crafted beaded necklace made from upcycled silk saris. This is the newest style - 3 graded strands of large, round beads.

• HOWS' signature upcycled sari necklaces are designed to utilise the smaller remnants of our production processes, as part of our zero waste policy.

Our artisan partner, a family of around a dozen women & men, are Bihari migrants living in Delhi who have perfected the production process since making our first necklace over a decade ago.

Every step in the process is intentional: we first select the most striking colours & prints from the mountains of recycled sari remnants in our workshop. These scraps are matched with colourful cotton thread selected, piece-by-piece, for maximum visual appeal & then sewn into narrow tubes. For our beaded styles, the artisans fill these tubes with wooden prayer beads, hand-stitching each bead into place with the thread.

Any variations or irregularities are to be celebrated. They are part of the design & inherent to the handcrafted production process, making this item beautifully unique.
