Birds Necklace, قلادة الطيور

The piece has tiny little silver coated brass birds that are very significant to Mayabazaar’s brand. Rajasthani handmade torans (decorative garlands) have these tiny birds made with fabric scraps by Rajasthani women; we have carried the little birdie in our branding since our inception. Using traditional craft techniques in urban narratives is the cornerstone of our philosophy. The little birds in the blue moon silver are representing the essence of Maya. 

These necklaces are individually crafted. Any variations or irregularities are part of the design and inherent to the production process.

Maya-Bazaar works with grass root level artisans who had given up their tradition of charakkam or handknotting to work as migrant labourers in Mumbai, India. Infusing their craft with modern designs and unique ideas, Mayabazaar continues to create individual pieces of jewellery and accessories. At Mayabazaar we encourage employment of women and provide support in health, education, savings, family planning and relationship counselling to our craftspeople.
