Athens Necklace

A trip to Greece is never complete without visiting the ancient city of Athens. Tall, rugged, yellow-stone columns tower over you in the Acropolis of Athens. Athens, the capital of Greece, is a city that is rich with culture and history. We’ve drawn inspiration from this magnificent city while creating this piece.

Using semi-precious, uncut stones, we’ve replicated the imposing architecture and the ruins found across the capital. The use of brass casted, Roman-inspired medallions tell tales of the rich history of the city. And the best part is the fuss-free magnetic clasps that make the piece super easy to wear. These necklaces are individually crafted. Any variations or irregularities are part of the design and inherent to the production process.

Maya-Bazaar works with grassroots-level artisans who had given up their tradition of charakkam or hand knotting to work as migrant labourers in Mumbai, India. Infusing their craft with modern designs and unique ideas, Maya-Bazaar continues to create individual pieces of jewellery and accessories.

At Maya-Bazaar, we encourage employment of women and provide support in health, education, savings, family planning and relationship counselling to our craftspeople.
