Mejooli Necklace

Resembling the dried grass on the Serengetti, Mejooli, our beaded necklace is an ode to the vast African grasslands. Braided jute yarn with handstitched embellishments make a subtle natural statement.

Maya-Bazaar works with grass root level artisans who had given up their tradition of charakkam or handknotting to work as migrant labourers in Mumbai, India. Infusing their craft with modern designs and unique ideas, Mayabazaar continues to create individual pieces of jewellery and accessories. At Mayabazaar we encourage employment of women and provide support in health, education, savings, family planning and relationship counselling to our craftspeople.
