Mejooli Necklace

Resembling the dried grass on the Serengeti, Mejooli, our beaded necklace is an ode to the vast African grasslands. Braided jute yarn with handstitched embellishments make a subtle natural statement.

Maya-Bazaar works with grass root level artisans who had given up their tradition of charakkam or hand knotting to work as migrant laborer in Mumbai, India. Infusing their craft with modern designs and unique ideas, Maya bazaar continues to create individual pieces of jewelry and accessories. At Maya bazaar we encourage employment of women and provide support in health, education, savings, family planning and relationship counselling to our craftspeople.
